It was a bigger leap from Chattanooga, Tn. to Lincoln, Ne. than I realized. Rolling into Nashville I was greeted by two sweeties hanging out of a Harley-Ford pickup snapping shots of the coupe running down the Interstate at about 70-75mph. I wish I'd got a shot or two of them, it'd would have been a lot better than of an old man, driving an old car.

One big problem I was having with the Chadly coupe was the Pabst Blue Ribbon can Chadly used for an expansion tank was filling up and blowing antifreeze all over the windshield and into car. My glasses would get covered with a sticky film, and I'd have to pull over to wash off the mess. This went on through Florida, into Georgia, into Tennessee and on through Missouri, and then Iowa, onward to Nebraska. Needless to say I was getting real tired of the situation. My next stop after visiting Corky and his crew of great guys at Coker and Honest Charley's Speed Shop was to visit my friend Damon Lee at Speedway Motors in Lincoln, Nebraska. As luck would have it I rolled into Lincoln right at closing time and got to visit with Speedy Bill. I got the same great reception from Speedy Bill, and he instructed Damon to help out if I needed anything to keep the Chadly running safe and sound. Bingo, Damon handed me a Speedway catalog, and the search was on for a proper expansion tank.

Speedway lists several options all of them good, I picked out a polished stainless steel vertical tank, and some of that really neat looking red fuel line Speedway stocks. The job of installing the tank went really smooth when Jason Masa, and Brad Nelson blew off taking their break to help (do all the work actually) me install the tank.

The pictures of the coupe in an old 1880's town was in Blackwater, Missouri. In the next couple of days I'll wrap this up with the coupe showing up at Lake Tahoe just in time for HAN, and the Lugnuts car show. Images to follow real soon thanks to Ed "the man" Kimball.
