Goodguys announced the Street Rod d'Elegance award last week

The winner for 2008 was a 1935 Ford three window coupe, owned by Doug and Flo Hoppe. The car was built by Roger Burman and the guys from Lakeside Rods. Congratulations to Doug and Flo Hoppe for another stunning car. (they also own the Ring Bros. '67 Mustang that won last years Goodguys Street Machine of the year)

1. I hope that when a feature is done on this car in Street Rodder that they spend as much time under the car as they do on top. A very good friend of mine has seen this unbelievable work of art. He says that the undercarriage of this car is a piece of artwork. I can't wait to see this thing!!!!

2. DO NOT USE BRUCE AT PROCOMP IN PITTSBURGH!!!
I can't believe I had to give one star! Bruce received my 1935 Dodge in 2002 with a complete body minus the front hood assemblies with a new jigged frame, I told him to cut the top and finish the car. The car was drivable and had been set up that way with no front end. The original estimate was for $21500.00 to cut the top, add air conditioning, hook up a compressor system to the existing airbags which was all new, and to complete the repair of the front end panels and rear fenders, plus add running boards. The car spent 3.5 years in his shop and I paid him over $40000.00 so his artistic ability could complete the car he said would be a sure #1 show winner. He molded from metal a whole new front end with mini cooper headlights and a ram air hood, added custom wheels and painted not to my specs, This was all done in the last three months he had the car! Rush job as I was getting pissed! He tried to charge me an additional $20000.00 when I picked it up but finally through arguments decided to just let me pay tax! The car went to the interior guy, who had it for a while because he screwed up the top so bad the fabrication did not allow a headliner, plus when he re did the firewall he cut all my supports for my braking system, I had no brakes because the power booster had no mounts left! The top screw up only allowed for a 3.5 inch windshield, plus the rear window was off center to the right by 3.54 inches. W#hen the rear LED lights were installed no resistors were put in place so they did not work, the Air Conditioning was a joke as they drilled through a high pressure line when installing. The steering shaft was not properly replaced on the spline so one day when driving home the steering rod fell out! The putty on the roof was lifting because no sealer was used and the rear fender bracing was removed so the fenders were like birds wings, just flapping. The locks were not installed correctly on the suicide doors so the doors would pop open going down the road, and there was no manual release installed in case of a battery failure! The battery tray he placed was rubbing on the front wheels when turning and the paint works was so bad the clear coat looked like a 20 knot day on open seas. This is just a short list of the problems I have many more. He did fly in one night and tried to fix a small problem, but he flew out of town the next morning when he saw the problems on 5 cars were overwhelming! This guy closed up shop in the middle of the night and moved to Pittsburgh to start another sham and to take peoples money that had no idea of what he does. He scammed over 20 people in Florida and I'm sure many more in Milwaukee, which BTW is my home town! DO NOT TRUST HIM!!!! They give you the feel good and how they did the fast and furious cars and will even show you pics of the 35 dodge they did for me, but if you really look you will see what terrible work he does, I have tried numerous times to have him correct this situation, but no response and avoiding my calls has made me to write this review, Its been over 2 years now and still no response. My suggestion if you have a car with him, pick it up and give it to a reputable body shop, If your starting a project, run as fast as you can. I can give you over 30 names of people he has done the same things to in the last 6 years.
